We have created this blog as a way to communicate key childrens' health and safety issues to parents and other child advocates. It is managed by Dayton Children's department of marketing communications. Comments can be sent to email@example.com.
We are thankful for a lot of things here at Dayton Children's but most importantly we are thankful for YOU, our community supporters! We would not be able to provide the care we provide to kids like Carmine if it weren't for your support. So today, we thank you! Have a great Thanksgiving!
Today, one family showed us what it means to be thankful and to give back. Dave Schutte passed away on September 14, 2015 at age 57 after battling cystic fibrosis his entire life. Much of his life was spent receiving treatment at Dayton Children's. Today, Dave's family made a donation to create a lasting legacy to benefit children battling cystic fibrosis who need financial assistance to meet daily medical needs. It will be donated to a fund named for a pulmonary physician at Dayton Children’s who provided Dave’s CF medical treatment for more than 30 years. Thanks to amazing medical advances and a network of support, CF patients are living longer and better lives. The Schutte family’s generous support will help that goal.
