Even at only 3 weeks old, Ellianna has been surprising her parents since day one. Ellianna was diagnosed with Hirschsprungs Disease, a rare disease that leads to an obstruction of the intestine. Ellianna’s parents aren’t strangers to this disease because two of her three older brothers have it as well. Each has undergone surgery at Dayton Children’s with Dr. Meagher and they are his first set of three siblings to have this disease. In a family with one child with Hirshsprungs there is only a 3 to 12 percent chance that another baby will have it, and boys are five times more likely to have it than girls. This makes Ellianna an especially unique little girl!
