Safe sleep…getting the word out!

As a spokesperson for the media when it comes to child safety issues, you sometimes never know what you are going to be asked to comment on.

Recently, I was asked to give our position and thoughts on safe sleep after a rollover death in Montgomery County.  The parents of this little one were very willing to share their story and their agony in hopes of saving other babies.  As I’ve shared before, I have true admiration for parent advocates.

While I can’t comment on specific cases, it’s amazing to me how common unsafe sleep deaths are.  They can occur in any home, anywhere. There is roughly one unsafe sleep death in Montgomery County every six weeks…incredible.

So today – I’m asking you you to help me get the word out.  Our message is simple – Remember the ABC’s of Safe Sleep! Babies should sleep Alone, on the Back and in a Crib. Let’s keep these babies safe!
